What is the permanent numbers for? Answer. Racers will have a choice of what number they run. We will be using RC Scoring Pro software for all races. The software has been modified to allow the use of permanent car numbers. These numbers will be displayed on the screen and print outs. This will let the announcers use the car numbers to identify the cars on the track. This will also allow sponsors to use the car numbers of their racers in ads if they want. Number choices. Each racer will have the option of running either the number they placed in the NATIONAL standings or a number of their choosing. Here's how it will work. What are my choices? Answer. Option#1 Use your NATIONAL ( not Division) standing number as you car number for 2005. If you placed in the top ten in your class and use this number your backing color will be BLUE and your number will be WHITE. If you placed outside the top ten then your backing plate color will be your division color and the number will be black. This will mean your number will change in 2006. Option #2 You can use a permanent number of your choosing. This number can be up to 3 digits and must be followed by a letter of your choosing. Example - my favorite number is 33 the 1st letter in my name is C so I would choose 33C as my permanent number. The number you choose will be your permanent number in the RC Pro Series unless you ask to change it at a later date, decide to run your placement number in up coming years or if you do not run in the series for 2 years in a row. These permanent numbers will be black on your division backing color. If you change divisions from year to year your backing color will change but not your number. This means each number has 26 choices (A-Z) so you will be the only one with that number in your class in the nation. If you want to have custom number plates made they must be the proper color for your division. This will also allow for painting the numbers into the car w/backing plate. Do I have to pay for a number? Answer. NO! Do I have to register a number every year? Answer. NO! If you have registered a number that will be your number in that class whenever you race in RC Pro. What if I run a new class? Answer. You will have to register a number for each class you run in. Can I use the same number for each class I run? Answer. Yes you can if you have registered that number in each class. Why are my classes important? Answer. Because by registering a number for a specific class it makes you the only one with that number in that class in the USA. Can you just assign me a number? Answer. NO! There are over 2,000 numbers registered with RC Pro. It is much easier for all of us if you give us your choices. What are my choices? Answer. You can choose a number from 0 - 999. You MUST have a letter behind your number. Can I use my ranking from last year? Answer. YES but we need to know you are using it. Who can make custom numbers for me? Answer.
